PWN Netherlands Volunteer Role: Tech Support

Volunteer Role: Tech Support

Why this role

PWN Netherlands is growing, and the tools behind our work need to grow with us. As our Tech Support volunteer, you keep our team of around 20 volunteers, board included, connected, so they can spend their energy on what we exist for: balanced leadership, and women who lead, mentor and open doors for each other.

This is a chance to shape how a growing network works together. You will help maintain a streamlined Microsoft 365 environment, with a clear structure already designed and a lead who has your back.

What you will do

Maintain an optimized Microsoft 365 environment

  • Set up new volunteers: their login, team mailbox, team group and a friendly first sign-in.
  • Close accounts and move access when people change role or leave.
  • Keep group memberships, mailbox access and permissions matched to current roles.
  • Reset passwords and sign-in codes, and sort out login issues.
  • Keep licences tidy: one per person, none on shared mailboxes.
  • Keep our setup secure: sign-in codes on, external sharing kept tight.
  • Keep a simple record of who has access to what.
  • Work with each team lead when their area changes.

Help people

  • Answer tech questions from board members and volunteers, in plain language, and know when to escalate.
  • Show people how things work, one to one or with short how-to notes.
  • Keep the tech playbook up to date as things change.

Connect with PWN Global

  • Join the regular calls of PWN Global's Platform Excellence Group.
  • Share what works in the Netherlands, and bring good ideas home.
  • Join working-group projects when you have the interest and time.

Who you are

You like things organized and working, and you are patient and clear when helping others. Good communication skills and reliability matter as much as experience.

  • Structured: you like a clean system and keeping it that way.
  • Reliable: you follow through and own what you take on.
  • Attention to detail: access, permissions and names set up efficiently and precisely.
  • Comfortable working on your own, remotely.
  • Experience managing user accounts or access permissions, and familiarity with Microsoft 365 as a user or admin.
  • Previous volunteer or community experience is welcome but not needed.
