Role at PWN Netherlands: I live and breathe PWN's mission—mentoring women through career challenges and helping them grow into confident leaders, advancing gender-balanced leadership. 

Personal interests or hobbies: Anything related to water: swimming, sailing, scuba-diving

Mo Chen

VP, Partners & Members

Describe yourself in three words: Curious. Connector. Communicator.

Role at PWN Netherlands: As Vice President, I support the President and board members wherever needed and act as her deputy in her absence. I focus on optimizing the member experience—ensuring our community feels inspiring, empowering, and worth belonging to. I develop women-empowerment programs that support the personal growth and leadership journey of our members, and I work to expand our reach and impact.

Personal interests or hobbies: I love dancing and creating unforgettable, uplifting experiences for myself and those around me. I also enjoy cooking, traveling, and am a lifelong learner always exploring new ideas and perspectives.

Philosophy: I believe in the power of co-creation and co-elevation — when we lift each other up, we unlock possibilities beyond what we could imagine alone. Be the change you want to see in the world, and help others rise with you.

Role at PWN Netherlands: To promote and showcase PWN Netherlands, its events, and programmes to our members and wider audience. 

Personal interests or hobbies: Sports, travel, and crafts.

Philosophy: Don't let others decide your definition of success.

Andreea Popescu

VP, Finance

Describe yourself in three words: Strategic, Courageous, Empowering. 

Role at PWN Netherlands: As Vice President Finance, I ensure that PWN Netherlands operates with strong financial governance, transparency, and long term sustainability. I bring 19 years of global experience partnering with CFOs and senior leaders to shape strategy, optimize cost and investment decisions, and deliver technology enabled transformation. My focus is to safeguard our financial health, oversee budgeting and investment decisions, and ensure that our resources are deployed responsibly to support impactful programs for our members. 

Personal interests or hobbies: I am passionate about travelling and exploring Asian cultures, as well as experiences that deepen cross cultural leadership and global mindset. 

Philosophy: My leadership philosophy is grounded in courage, integrity, and a commitment to lifting others as I rise. Early career challenges shaped my belief that leadership is not about hierarchy, but about creating pathways, especially for women navigating complex environments. I am driven to raise and inspire the next generation of female leaders through coaching, mentoring, and sponsorship, and to help build safe, inclusive cultures where everyone can thrive. 

Ilze Spigule - Buijtenweg

VP, Events

Describe yourself in three words: Energetic, Curious, Passionate

Role at PWN Netherlands: As VP of events I am responsible for organising both in-person and online events designed to foster meaningful connections and provide insights on current issues, all aimed at empowering women to thrive personally and professionally. I have  experience in event organisation since I was 10, which has helped me contribute to the success of PWN initiatives.

Personal interests or hobbies : I love singing jazz and choir music, ballroom dancing with my hubby, as well as hiking and canoeing.

Philosophy:  I am a serial expat, speaking 7 languages, with a deep curiosity about what drives human behaviour and connections.

Julie Bogya

VP, Technology

Describe yourself in three words: Courageous. Empathetic. Curious.

Role at PWN Netherlands: Having spent almost 20 years working alongside technological advances, I enjoy it when I get to join a team like PWN Netherlands to help streamline the tech stack. My role at PWN is to provide technical guidance, assist with onboarding, and ensure that our members data is kept secure through best practices.

Personal interests or hobbies: I absolutely adore reading romance novels and have for 30+ years. I enjoy trying out new recipes and a great cup of coffee.

Philosophy: I have two sayings that I try to live by: "we'll figure it out" and "be as you are"
