VP Finance
The VP Finance safeguards the financial integrity of PWN Netherlands and ensures compliant, transparent, and strategically aligned financial operations. The VP Finance keeps the books of the association, manages all financial affairs, and prepares the annual budget for board and member approval.
The role combines operational financial management with strategic oversight, enabling sound decision-making across the Board and ensuring the association remains financially healthy, compliant, and well-governed.
What You’ll Do:
Financial Governance & Compliance
- Maintain and enforce PWN Netherlands’ financial policies, including approval rules, expense governance, documentation standards, and statutory requirements.
- Ensure all financial commitments follow internal regulations and legal obligations.
- Alert the Board to any financial matters requiring attention or intervention.
- Uphold the guidelines and expectations of being a Board Member.
Financial Administration & Bookkeeping
- Manage Excel-based bookkeeping, monthly income reconciliation, recurring expenses, and financial documentation.
- Oversee membership and event income flows from both the global platform and the bank account.
- Own the relationship with ABN Amro and maintain full control of bank access rights.
- Oversee and review monthly bank statements for income and expenditure accuracy.
- Issue invoices using approved templates.
- Approve expenses within 7–10 days and process reimbursements within 14 days.
- Collect, file, and maintain all documents related to financial transactions.
Audit & Annual Reporting
- Coordinate the annual audit with the internal audit committee or external bookkeeper.
- Prepare the annual financial statements and the AGM financial presentation.
- Ensure timely sign-off of the association’s finances.
Systems & Tools Oversight
- Maintain the Finance Outlook mailbox, SharePoint finance folders, and access rights.
- Manage financial systems including Stripe and ABN Amro.
- Ensure proper governance of digital financial records and tools.
Board Engagement & Governance
- Attend Board meetings and PWN events.
- Collaborate with fellow Board Members to support strategic initiatives and ensure financial alignment.

What You Bring:
- Experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, business administration, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of financial governance, compliance, and risk management.
- Excellent written English (en-gb) and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence managing budgets, financial reporting, and reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.
- Comfortable working with Excel, online banking and accounting platforms, and other systems as required.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
