Volunteer Spotlight: Ariane Comblin – Treasurer, PWN Global
Our volunteer team is growing, bringing together different skills, experiences, and perspectives to strengthen the network and better support our members and City Networks. Please welcome Ariane Comblin, our new Treasurer at PWN Global.
Why I chose to support PWN Global
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work with inspiring leaders, international teams, and organizations that challenged me to grow. I reached a point where giving back felt like the natural next step. PWN Global's mission, to help women grow, lead, and build meaningful careers across borders, deeply resonates with me. I strongly believe that talent is everywhere, but opportunities, confidence, and networks are not always equally accessible. If my experience can help create more opportunities for other women, then volunteering is a well-spent investment of time.
Professional and personal background
I am an international CFO, leading finance teams across Europe in global organizations, including Deloitte, Valeo, GEODIS, and Bridgestone. My career has been centered on business transformation, performance improvement, and building high-performing teams. While finance has always been my profession, developing people has always been my passion. Outside work, I am naturally curious, enjoy meeting people from different cultures, and genuinely love helping others grow. Friends and colleagues often describe me as calm under pressure, pragmatic, and someone who brings people together around a common objective. I also believe that leadership is less about authority than about creating trust and enabling others to succeed. One of my personal mottos is "Build a team so strong that no one can point out the leader." To me, leadership is about creating the conditions for others to thrive, not about being at the center of attention.
What I hope to help PWN achieve
As Treasurer, I hope to support strong financial governance that advances PWN Global's long-term ambitions. Beyond finance, I would like to help the Board make thoughtful decisions, strengthen collaboration across our global network, and ensure that every financial decision serves our mission and creates value for our members. Ultimately, I hope to help PWN continue to grow its impact while remaining a trusted, inclusive, and sustainable organization.
My top tip for women in their professional lives
Trust your gut. Mine has occasionally been more accurate than my spreadsheets… although I would never admit that in a finance meeting. Speak up. Don't be afraid to respectfully challenge something when it doesn't make sense. Stand up for your ideas, for your values, and for what you believe is right. Confidence doesn't mean having all the answers, it means having the courage to contribute to the conversation.
Don't wait until you feel 100% ready: go, girl, go!
