The Community Manager for the Global Mentoring Programme plays a vital role in cultivating a vibrant, supportive, and engaging online environment for mentors and mentees participating in the programme. This voluntary role ensures the private community groups operate as inspiring, collaborative, and safe spaces where participants and alumni can connect, share experiences and opportunities, and learn from one another.
About the Global Mentoring Programme (GMP): The Global Mentoring Programme connects PWN members across borders for personal and professional growth. Each edition runs annually and supports up to 50 mentoring pairs.

What You’ll Do:
Welcome & Onboarding
- Warmly welcome new members to the community space.
- Encourage participants to introduce themselves and begin building connections early in the programme.
Facilitate Meaningful Engagement
- Initiate and stimulate conversations on topics such as mentoring, international careers, personal development, and leadership.
- Share weekly or biweekly prompts, reflection questions, or discussion starters to keep the dialogue active and relevant.
- Build and nurture an engaged alumni network by reconnecting past mentors and mentees, encouraging continued peer exchange, sharing opportunities and success stories, and creating moments (online discussions, spotlight features, or occasional virtual meetups) that sustain long-term relationships beyond the programme.
Promote Peer-to-Peer Learning
- Encourage members to ask questions, share insights, and support each other.
- Highlight opportunities for knowledge exchange across regions, functions, or levels.
Share Resources & Insights
- Curate and post useful articles, tools, events, and programme-related resources.
- Provide content that adds value to members’ mentoring experiences.
Celebrate Successes
- Amplify member achievements, success stories, and positive testimonials from mentoring pairs.
- Shine a light on inspiring contributions and milestones within the community.
Foster an Inclusive & Safe Space
- Model respectful, inclusive, and collaborative behavior at all times.
- Help maintain a positive tone and ensure the community remains a confidential, judgment-free zone.
Encourage Broader Participation
- Gently draw quieter or less engaged members into conversations.
- Promote small prompts or low‑pressure opportunities for all voices to be heard.
Monitor Community Health
- Keep an eye on ongoing discussions and group dynamics.
- Flag any concerns, conflicts, or inappropriate behavior to the Programme Lead promptly.
Active Member of the Programmes Team
- Support the Executive Lead and Programme Manager to plan and deliver online events.
- Assist with communications to promote the programme.
- Attend GMP volunteer team meetings at least once a month via Teams.
- Attend Programmes Team meetings biweekly via Teams.
