PWN Copenhagen: Women's Strategy Circle - The Calm Strategist: Leading Through Crisis with Emotional Intelligence

When crisis hits, i.e a failing project, a difficult stakeholder, an unexpected organisational shift, strategy alone isn't enough. The leaders who navigate it well are the ones who can read the room, regulate themselves, and make clear decisions while everyone around them is reacting.

This Strategy Circle explores how emotional intelligence becomes a practical operating system during crisis: how to stay grounded, how to lead others through uncertainty, and how to convert pressure into clarity. Through frameworks, real-world examples, and peer dialogue, we'll build a personal toolkit you can use the next time things go sideways.

Rebecca aims to create a calm, reflective, and psychologically safe environment where participants can openly explore how they respond to pressure, uncertainty, and difficult professional situations. Rather than focusing on crisis as something dramatic or exceptional, she encourages participants to view it as a normal part of leadership and professional life that can be navigated with greater awareness and intention. Through practical frameworks, real-world examples, and peer discussion, the session creates space for thoughtful reflection, shared learning, and the development of personal strategies for leading with clarity, composure, and emotional intelligence when stakes are high.

Three Key Takeaways:
 - The pause is the strategy. The space between trigger and response is where leadership actually happens; and it's a trainable skill, not a personality trait.
- Regulate yourself first, then the room. You cannot lead others out of a state you are still in. Emotional self-awareness is the prerequisite for any crisis decision worth making.
- Crisis reveals defaults — design yours intentionally. Under pressure people fall back on patterns. Knowing your default response (and your team's) is a strategic asset you can prepare in advance.

This Strategy Circle is ideal for professional women who lead projects, teams, stakeholders, clients, or complex initiatives and want to strengthen their ability to stay calm, focused, and effective when pressure rises. It will particularly resonate with our Women's Strategy Circle members who are navigating change, growth, uncertainty, or increased responsibility and are curious about how emotional intelligence can become a practical leadership tool - not just a soft skill - when decisions matter most.
