Celebrating International Women’s Day: Empowering Women in Technology

On March 8th, 2023 we co-organized this special event dedicated to celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD). We focused on the critical need to bring more women into technology—a field where their creativity and insights can drive innovation and promote gender equality.

The Cost of Exclusion

According to the UN Women’s Gender Snapshot 2022 report, the exclusion of women from the digital world has resulted in a staggering loss of US$1 trillion from the GDP of low- and middle-income countries over the past decade. Without decisive action, this figure is projected to rise to US$1.5 trillion by 2025. This economic impact underscores the urgent need for inclusion in tech, not just as a moral imperative, but as a necessity for sustainable development.

An event for Inspiration and Insight

2023 IWD celebration featured a panel of remarkable women in tech who shared their journeys, the prejudices they have faced, and the successes they have achieved. Their stories serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of education and equal support for women in all fields, especially technology, and of finding role models.

A Journey Through Their Stories

We were thrilled to present three inspiring profiles of high-tech women who have significantly contributed to their fields. Their experiences highlight not only the challenges but also the triumphs that come with perseverance and passion.
