2025 INDIVIDUAL MENTORING - January 2025 - November 2025

We believe everyone needs a Mentor. This is why we will soon be launching the 2025 PWN French Riviera Mentoring Programme which ensures that professionals gain access to the best support for their personal and professional development.

PWN’s successful Mentoring Program is one of the valued-added benefits for all our PWN Premium Members. Research suggests that the support of a professional mentor is crucial  for success in our careers and development and we have successfully matched more than 25 of our Mentees with local mentors every year.  Our Mentors come with a diverse background of knowledge, skills and experience and volunteer to 'give back' to our community.

Whether you are seeking support from an experienced professional to help your career goals take shape, or you would like to gain experience as a Mentor applying your expertise and knowledge, this program provides a unique opportunity.

Who can be a mentee in the PWN French Riviera programme?

The program is open to all premium and corporate members who are looking to develop personal/professional competencies and skills.

What do I get out of the programme?

The programme is an opportunity for you to achieve your objectives, whether that is to gain more exposure in your work, continue to form meaningful working relationships with those who believe in your cause or move into a new role … among many others. This invaluable level of support can only exist with an intimate scheme like this, ensuring that you thrive with the right people on your side.

Timeline:

2024 – Preparation and selection of candidates

  • 12 November: Informal drinks event where mentees can meet mentors
  • 13 November: Applications open
  • 2 December: Applications close
  • Throughout Dec: candidate selection and matching with mentors
  • 20 December: candidates informed of their matches

2025 – Confirmation of matches and programme

  • 2-14 Jan: Candidates hold chemistry meetings to confirm their partnership
  • 15 January: Start of programme
  • End Oct: End of programme

Each mentee on the program receives ten mentoring sessions of approx 1-2 hours each meeting.

We will hold quarterly mentor meetups so that mentors can get to know each other and learn together.

What is mentoring?

According to the EMCC Definition of Mentoring “Mentoring is a learning relationship, involving the sharing of skills, knowledge, and expertise between a mentor and mentee through developmental conversations, experience sharing, and role modelling. The relationship may cover a wide variety of contexts and is an inclusive two-way partnership for mutual learning that values differences.”

New approaches to mentoring include, Peer or Parallel Mentoring, where two people are working together to reach a common goal, and also Reverse Mentoring, where a younger person is guiding an older and more experienced person in areas like technology, social media, and current trends.

There is no formal qualification to be a mentor. You only need to be willing to share personal experiences and knowledge and reflect deeply with the other person in a non-judgmental manner.

There will always be some cross-over with coaching and mentoring.
