PWN Nice Cote d'Azur Newsletter - December 2023
Dear PWN Community
We are thrilled to share this end-of-the-year newsletter summarizing our chapter's great and intense year - our 21th year since our establishment on Côte d’Azur.
Having overcome COVID inertia and online isolation, we have seen a significant increase in in-person events between Meet & Greets, themed round table lunches, partnership educational events, mentoring workshops, and social parties. We have welcomed more than 60 new faces and are delighted to multiply synergies and support new valuable ideas.
PWN Global initiatives continue to provide us with excellent inspiration between the global summit in Brussels in May 2023 and the upcoming IWD celebration in Strasbourg on March 8, 2024, which will be open to all PWN members upon registration (please see details later in this newsletter).
In 2024, PWN Nice Côte d'Azur's goal remains the structuration of our regional presence, partnership development, and galvanization of synergies to increase the value for our community.
We thank all our speakers, partners and board members for your work and trust in our mission.
To all our members, thank you for your continuous support - PWN is only something because of your active participation. To those of you who would like to become members, please find the link to sign up. https://pwnnice.net/join-us/individual-member.html. We cannot wait to welcome you.
Lastly, if you work in a company or know of a company that could benefit from being a corporate partner, please email us. We can give you more information on how this is a triple win for the company, for women and for men.
If we do not see you before the holiday season, we wish you a wonderful time and look forward to many more events in 2024.
Co-Presidents Tatiana Panyukova-Adragna and Lena Beck Rørvig
Thank you all for an amazing Winter Party!
On Friday, the 1st of December, we hold our annual Winter Party in Sophia Antipolis, with an exciting panel discussion to uncover key drivers of gender differences in the labour market.
It was a pleasure to see both familiar and new faces. We call it a Winter Party and a party is traditionally a social event, but we could not resist also having a professional touch – we are after all Professional Women’s Network.
The theme was inspired by the work of Professor Claudia Goldin, the recipient of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences - only the third woman awarded this prestigious prize.
To be correct the prize is called: ‘The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel’. Professor Goldin was awarded "for having advanced our understanding of women’s labour market outcomes".
We were a total of 36 women and 3 men and we kicked off the evening with a drink and settled in.
At the introduction everybody got a chance to introduced them self with name and occupation – 10 seconds each – we did this to honor that we are a network and it is importat to remember at each event that we are all included and make each other feel welcome.
After a brief introduction to Alfred Nobel and the work of Professor Goldin we introduced our panel:
Candace Johnson, Diane Bouzebiba, Ines O’Donovan, and Martina Åkerlund. These four women were inspiring with their uniqueness, helpful advice, authenticity, and assertiveness.
They gave us all optimism and courage to continue living the life we want to live, fulfilling our dreams.
The evening then entered the social and networking phase with great food. This year we had chosen to make it a standing networking and not a sit down dinner and it gave a great opportunity to mingle and speak to a many different people.
We are grateful to everyone who participated and made the evening very special.
PWN Global meeting in Strasbourg - Join us - open to all members
We are proud to announce the PWN Global Summit 2024, which will take place at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, on Friday, 8 March, 2024, celebrating International Women’s Day.
The Summit 2024 will provide a hub of activities where we will meet and exchange experiences, ideas, and valuable data on major themes such as peace, governance, wealth, health matters, and more.
The event will bring together our members and will also be open to the public. We expect up to 300 participants, including our City Network Presidents who will be present to share their views. We will host experts, exclusive keynote speakers from the corporate world, universities, and public sector to share their thoughts and action plans on the above-mentioned important topics.
We have created a full information pack relating to the agenda for the event and how to plan your stay (hotels, restaurants, tourist visits etc), which you can access here.
This is going to be an incredible way for us all to celebrate International Women's Day - so, if you'd like to join us at The PWN Global Summit 2024, and benefit from our 'Early Bird' registration fee, click here.

It also keeps you on track and prevents you from engaging in activities that are not aligned with your values, goals and, most importantly, the vision for your life. Join us in this transformative session, to learn how to develop a personal vision statement.

2024 MENTORING FLAGSHIP PROGRAM
9 NOVEMBER 2023 EVENT – MENTOR/MENTEE MEETUP.
As a first step in the 2024 mentoring program, we held our first self-matching event where Mentees had the opportunity to speak to Mentors who could potentially help them achieve their goals in 2024.
PWN runs a mentoring program to support members to achieve their objectives, whether they are personal/professional development, corporate intrapreneurship projects, or entrepreneurial projects. Our individual mentoring prograe is open to all Premium members and runs from January to November of each year.
Here is what people from the 2022 and 2023 programmes have to say:
Joining the PWN mentoring program as a mentee is one of the best decisions I've made in recent years. Over the course of a year, I've not only benefited from a benevolent, distanced and expert look at key issues, but I've also developed a lasting relationship with an incredible mentor. I recommend it to anyone looking to gain clarity and empowerment. Maeva B.I am convinced that this mentoring helped me in my personal self-confidence to move forward.Coralie C… It also allowed me to validate my overall professional strengths and weaknesses and encouraged me to take action to develop my business and sign up for a training course. Finally, on a personal level, my mentor helped me to anticipate my needs as a new mother and to think about ways to rest and recharge and manage my responsibilities with regards to work and my family. Oriane B.31 October 2023 workshop - Leadership: Finding your voice and managing conflict
The workshop was experiential and aimed at providing guidelines and tools to navigating conflictual situations. It is a very touchy subject, but one that can help us a great deal in our professional and personal lives. A big shout out to the group that was open and willing to share their experiences in order to help each other find solutions.
