Purpose of the Role
The head of volunteer experience plays a vital leadership role in shaping the volunteer experience through a streamlined onboarding, engagement and communications process. women to thrive. This is an opportunity to bring creativity, energy, and vision to a mission-driven network that is focused on accelerating gender-balanced leadership.

Primarily remote with periodic in-person events and meetings in Dublin

What you'll do 

  • Attract the right volunteers: Work closely with role owners to identify volunteer needs and recruit top candidates through various channels.
  • Create impactful role descriptions: Write and update role descriptions that accurately reflect the responsibilities and expectations for each volunteer position.
  • Screen applications: Review volunteer applications and resumes, shortlisting the most qualified candidates.
  • Conduct interviews: Organize and lead interviews to assess candidates' qualifications and fit for the role and organization.
  • Collaborate and support: Partner with role owners throughout the recruitment process, providing insights and guidance on candidate selection.
  • Onboard volunteers: Support the onboarding process, ensuring new volunteers' transition smoothly and are set up for success. 
  • Engagement – Develop an engagement and communications plan to ensure volunteers feel part of the PWN Dublin community
  • Succession planning – support the VP’s to identify new candidates for their roles

    You have strong verbal and written communication, allowing you to connect effectively with speakers, partners, and the volunteer team. 
  • Organisational skills: You’re able to coordinate multiple moving parts, from timelines and budgets to logistics and people, with calm efficiency. 
  • Attention to detail: You spot what others might miss, ensuring all aspects of event planning are precise, professional, and well executed. 
  • Interpersonal skills: You build relationships and engage confidently with a wide range of individuals, from volunteers to external partners. 
  • Problem-solving skills: You anticipate challenges and implement practical, creative solutions to keep things running smoothly and delivering great experiences.

Recruitment Process

  • Informal Interview: You’ll meet two members of the Management Team for a relaxed, values-led conversation to explore mutual fit, motivation, and expectations. 
  • Meet the Co-President(s): If both sides are aligned, you’ll be invited to meet one or both Co-Presidents for a strategic alignment conversation, to ensure shared vision and support.

Onboarding

You’ll have the chance to attend a Management Team meeting as an observer and optionally co-lead or support an event. This gives you a feel for the team, pace, and role dynamics.
