At EI, Dr. Murphy works within the Leadership, Talent, and Skills Department, where he manages the Leadership for Growth programme. This world-class initiative, delivered in partnership with IESE Business School, focuses on developing CEOs as key drivers of business success. From programme design and procurement to contract management and continuous development, his expertise ensures that Irish SMEs have access to tailored leadership development opportunities.

With a background in psychology and human performance, Dr. Murphy brings a unique perspective to leadership development. His strategic role at EI, including his tenure as Strategy Pillar Lead (2022-2025), has allowed him to shape leadership journeys that extend beyond traditional corporate boundaries.

A Passion for Mentorship

Dr. Murphy’s journey with PWN Dublin began in 2022 when he joined as a mentor for the Group Mentoring Programme. His decision to get involved stemmed from a longstanding dedication to mentoring and education. Having previously lectured and supervised in academia, he saw PWN Dublin as an opportunity to exercise his mentorship skills in a dynamic and enriching environment.

I joined to contribute to the personal and professional development of others, as well as my own,” he shares.

Encouraged by his colleague Amanda Kirk, a former PWN Dublin Board Member, he embraced the chance to support emerging leaders and has since been an active mentor for three consecutive years.

His structured approach in the first year evolved into a more fluid and dynamic mentorship style, shaped by the diverse experiences of his mentees.
