About the Mentoring Programme

The PWN Netherlands Mentoring Programme connects experienced professionals with members of our community who are navigating growth, transition or moments of reflection in their careers. Through thoughtfully matched mentor–mentee relationships, the programme offers space for perspective, learning and confidence-building, benefiting both mentees and mentors.



Mentees

Receive personalised guidance on professional and personal development from a mentor specifically matched to your needs.

  • Benefit from another female leader’s experience in managing her career internationally. 
  • Have a “safe place” to ask questions, share ideas, and discuss challenges in a confidential setting. 
  • Acquire new perspectives on how to grow inside and outside your organisation. 
  • Expand your network internationally and build professional relationships. 
  • Get tips on how to adapt – both professionally and personally - to another country, and manage cultural differences.

Mentors

Share your knowledge and experiences with community members on similar career paths, and gain inspiration from guiding and supporting your mentee's growth.

  • Share your international experience while giving back to society and advancing gender- balanced leadership.
  • Experience the personal fulfilment of supporting another woman in developing her skills and career.
  • Get the pleasure of seeing your “protégé” face her challenges successfully.
  • Develop your own leadership skills as a mentor.
  • Get additional insights on your industry, or some new insights from a different arena.

Programme Duration

  • The mentorship program lasts for +/- 4 months. 
  • Autumn/Winter Cohort - starts mid-October
  • Spring/Summer Cohort - starts mid-April

Frequency and Format

  • One-on-One Meetings: 1-2 times per month, flexible scheduling. 
  • Group Meetings: 4 times throughout the program.

Key Milestones and Checkpoints

  • Matching Ceremony: Face-to-face event to kick off the program. 
  • Online Knowledge Sharing Sessions: Two sessions where mentors share their expertise with all participants. 
  • Wellbeing Event: Face-to-face event focusing on mental and physical health. 
  • Closing Ceremony: Celebrating mentees' achievements and future plans.

Selection Criteria and Matching Process 

  • Matching Ceremony: Participants meet all mentors and mentees face-to-face to express preferences. 
  • Matches are based on mutual preferences and the alignment of mentees' questions with mentors' expertise.
Registration and Costs
  • Mentors and mentees get access to online sessions, in-person events and support for the duration of the programme
  • There is no cost to participate as a Mentor.  Mentors are welcome to apply from our Premium Members, Online Members and non-members.
  • The registration cost  to participate as a Mentee is €80
  • All Mentees must be, or register to be, Premium Members of PWN at the start of the programme.  The cost of Premium Membership is €150.  This gives exclusive access to all in-person events, online events, seminars, workshops, specialist groups, networking and masterclasses, in addition to access to the back catalogue of recorded sessions.
  • After registration, participants will be sent a matching form to support the partnership process.
