PWN Members are convened at annual General Assembly in first call on 24 May 2017 at 3 pm at The Square Milano Hotel and on second call on Wednesday 24 May 2017 at 7 pm at The Square Milano Hotel, Via Alberico Albricci 2/3 (M3 Missori), Milan to discuss and resolve on the following agenda:

  • PWN Milan today: membership, goals, activities
  • Financial Report 2016: approval
  • Election PWN Milan Board

 PWN Milan is seeking nominations for it's Board roles

Take a look at the attached role descriptions and come to be part of this vibrant group of people committed to gender balanced leadership and to the continued growth of our network and community. 

Certain Board functions may require the assistance of one or more people in addition to the Board Member responsible for that position. 

The key dates related to the election activities are:

  • 8 May: deadline for candidate submissions by sending an email to pwa@pwa-milan.org
  • 10 May: candidate biographies available on the PWN Milan website
  • 24 May: voting will take place in the General Assembly 

 INFORMATION FOR PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATES

Only members with at least 3 months of membership can be elected to the PWN Milan Board .

If you're interested in being a candidate for a position on the PWN Milan Board of Directors for the period ending in 2020 with the approval of the 2019 financial report, please notify PWN Milan by sending an email to pwa@pwa-milan.org. Please put the word "Elections" in the subject line and indicate the position for which you are submitting your name as a candidate. The closing date for candidate submissions is 6pm on Monday, 8 May 2017.

In the email, we also request that you include:

  • A short biography, preferably with a picture. Biographies may include information as your personal background and your association with PWA
  • Your motivation behind why you want to become a Board member 
  • Your goals/vision for the organization for the coming year

Candidate profiles will be posted on the PWN website by 10 May 2017.

If you are interested in serving as a volunteer to one of the Board positions, please contact Roberta Toniolo at president@pwa-milan.org . If there is no prospective board member for a given position, it will be the responsibility of the incoming President to fill the open position(s) before the start of the new term.

Given the importance of this meeting, your participation is very important. In case you could not attend the meeting, you can vote by proxy.



BOARD POSITIONS

President

Approx. 7 days per month

Face of the organization in the press and vis-a-vis third parties, embodies the values of the association and represents Italy at the Federation level.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Legal representative of association
  • City Network Governance and Strategy
  • Defines clear goals / programs / activities consistent with developed and agreed strategies.
  • Sets priorities in terms of investment
  • Ensures that all Board of Directors adhere to and deliver against their defined roles and responsibilities.
  • Chairs and develops an agenda for Board Meetings.
  • Liaise with PWN Global and  other city network presidents
  • Serves as a spokesperson to the media on developing network stories.
  • People management:
    • Delegates the appropriate responsibility, accountability and decision-making authority.
    • Ensures that roles, responsibilities and reporting lines are clear to staff members.
    • Judges the amount of time and resources needed to accomplish a task and matches task to skills. • Monitors progress against milestones and deadlines.
    • Encourages risk-taking and supports creativity and initiative.
    • Appoints interim and special committees, task forces and representatives, and makes replacement appointments. 
PROFILE / BACKGROUND
  • Strong business experience, preferably in an international environment.
  • Experience in managing high level contacts in business, government, international organizations or civil society organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience setting strategy and motivating and leading 10 or more individuals

Vice president

 Approx.4 hours per week

Face of the organization in the press and vis-a-vis third parties in absence of the President. Represents an important link with the rest of the Federation and coordinates the Board work flow.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Responsible for the overall management of PWN in case of absence or inability of President and provides oversight for the remaining Board roles not covered by the President
  • Contribute to the definition of contents and speakers for all events
  • Responsible with the President for external relations, including those with Corporate Members and Sponsors, press,  community and political organizations, other women’s groups, etc.
  • Participates at PWN events as part of the Welcome Committee
  • Shares best practices and guarantees continuous interaction with PWN Global and other city networks
PROFILE / BACKGROUND
  •  Strong business experience, preferably in an international environment.
  • Experience in managing high level contacts in business, government, international organizations or civil society organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in setting strategy. 

Treasurer

Approx.4 hours per week 

Covers all the financial and legal issues concerning the association, including compliance with the Italian legal framework and cost and revenue management

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  •  Preparing all quarterly financial statements for board meetings, reviewing and monitoring all possible discrepancies.
  • Oversees the review of and monitoring of monthly bank statements against income/expenses recorded, collect, review and pay bills (by check or bank transfer.) Follow up on any unpaid transactions or errors in charges.
  • For the AGM, prepare the annual financial statements and budget review and sign off with the external accountant before the meeting date
  • Alerts the Board to any financial matters that require attention
  • Participates at PWN events as part of the Welcome Committee
  • Shares best practices and guarantees continuous interaction with PWN Global and other  local networks
PROFILE / BACKGROUND
  •  Business experience, preferably in an international environment.
  • Strong experience in accounting and finance/budgeting,

Membership Experience Director

Approx.8 hours per week 

Manages all relations with current and prospect individual members of the association, collaborates with other board members on specific projects aimed at increasing and maintaining membership levels

 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develops the strategy to retain current members and recruit new members and coordinates the activities of the Membership Experience Committee
  • Responds to request for information about membership through telephone calls, personal contacts, social media and correspondence
  • Ensures that member database (Premium Members, Contacts Free, Corporate members, Admin) is kept up to date in PWN website and holds the relevant information, solves any fundamental problems together with PWN Global Webmaster
  • Executes a communication plan for current, new, lapsed and expired members, as well as event participants together with Marketing & Communication Director
  • Maintains supplies of membership materials: informational brochures, sign up sheets, follow up documentation, etc
  • Organizes a new member orientation on a quarterly basis
  • Participates at PWN events as part of the Welcome Committee
  • Shares best practices and guarantees continuous interaction with PWN Global and other  local networks
PROFILE / BACKGROUND
  • Hands on, proactive and responsive
  • Ability to influence and motivate
  • Experience in sales, business development
  • Strong customer experience focus
  • Ability to connect with a wide variety of different people

Corporate Partnership Director

Approx.5-7 hours per week 

Manages all relations with current and prospect corporate partners of the association, collaborates with other board members on specific projects aimed at increasing and maintaining  loyalty.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Gains an understanding of the environment in which PWN Milan & Global  operate in order to determine trends and needs of current and potential partners that would translate into new opportunities
  • Identifies, qualifies and establishes formal relationship with business partners
  • Develops and implements partnership goals and objectives thus finding the best ways to accomplish partner’s needs and objectives.
  • Supports and facilitates contract negotiations
  • Identifies a point person to manage ongoing partner relationships and ensures issues are identified, resolved and prevented in future and that new opportunities are identified and pursued.
  • Responsible to assure the best membership experience for Corporate Members
  • Support Membership Director in maintaining the Corporate Members names updated  in the PWN Milan database
  • Participates at PWN events as part of the Welcome Committee
  • Shares best practices and guarantees continuous interaction with PWN Global and other  local networks
PROFILE / BACKGROUND
  • Experience in  sales, business development marketing  or related areas.
  • Experience in negotiation, contract management
  • Strong customer experience focus  

Mentoring and Talent Development Director

Approx.5 hours per week 

Develops and manages annual mentoring and talent development program

 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the execution of the annual program
  • Acts as a contact point to leverage these best practices
  • Liaises with VP Mentoring in other city networks in order to develop international mentoring programs
  • Participates at PWN events as part of the Welcome Committee
  • Shares best practices and guarantees continuous interaction with PWN Global and other  local networks
PROFILE / BACKGROUND
  • Strong experience in program management & governance
  • Experience in as many of the following fields as possible: human resource management, coaching
  • Ability to influence and motivate
  • Ability to connect with a wide variety of different people

Personal and Professional Development Director 

Approx.5 hours per week 

Manages  all PWN Networking events, from content to speakers, aiming to guarantee a good event turnout. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for organizing Networking Aperitivo, Workshops, Holiday and Summer Parties, and other Special Events as per the PWN calendar
  • Prepares event description to be posted on the website by Event Director
  • Presents the networking topic to the audience and monitors the members during the networking games
  • Participates at PWN events as part of the Welcome Committee
  • Shares best practices and guarantees continuous interaction with PWN local networks’ Program Directors
PROFILE / BACKGROUND
  • Experience in program management & governance
  • Experience in as many of the following fields as possible: human resource management, coaching
  • Ability to influence and motivate
  • Ability to connect with a wide variety of different people

Marketing & Communication Director

Approx.5 hours per week

Manages all PWN related communication through different media aimed at creating awareness.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  •  Works closely with PR professionals to create and deliver newsletters, press releases, social   and media contents
  • Works closely with PWN Global webmaster in order to solve possible problems
  • Manages PWN web site, social networks sites and Google Analytics account
  • Manages PWN mailing lists (members, guests, contacts, etc.)
  • Creates marketing/promotional materials, both print and electronic, to increase awareness of PWN Milan
  • Ensures coordination & continuity on web / social network contents
  • Participates at PWN events as part of the Welcome Committee.
  • Shares best practices and guarantees continuous interaction with PWN Global and other  local networks
 PROFILE / BACKGROUND
  •  Experience in marketing and communication
  • Strong experience in digital  and web management.
  • Ability to influence and motivate
  • Ability to coordinate  and harmonizing content coming from a variety of different people
  • Strong experience in international environment.

Events Director

Approx.4 hours per week 

Responsible for organizing all meeting & events.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for organizing all meeting & events, as per the PWN calendar, working closely with Marketing Director, President, Vice President, Personal Program Director and Professional Program Director.
  • Responsible for searching the most appropriate venues
  • Managing the relationship with the venue manager / suppliers
  • Responsible for events registration process and invites on PWN website
  • Coordinate speakers
  • Organizes staffing for Guest Registration desk at all PWN events and keeps an accurate list of guest attendance for each event
  • Ensure high quality of services at the events
  • Shares best practices and guarantees continuous interaction with PWN Global and other  local networks
PROFILE / BACKGROUND
  • Experience in event management
