PWN Amsterdam: International Men's Day Celebration - Allyship! The Key to Gender Parity

19 November 2019 17:30 CET - 20:30 CET Accenture

November 19 is International Men's Day. Join us for a conversation about what men and women need, to ensure talented individuals have equal access to opportunities.

Men often have no idea what their role is, in the gender balance discussion. Answers will be sought to questions such as: What does inclusion mean for men? What are the challenges men and women face? What are the biases that both men and women are confronted with, which affect their career progression. How can we work together to transform workplace gender barriers?

This year, after 33 years of being an 'only for women' network, our PWN Amsterdam members voted to open up our network, so that men can become members.  We know that without the support of men as allies, gender balance is not going to happen for generations to come.

What is allyship? "An ally is any person who actively promotes and aspires to advance the culture of inclusion through intentional, positive and conscious efforts that benefit people as a whole." Sheree Atcheson, Forbes article

In order to ensure that this evening has maximum impact, we ask you to bring at least 1 male colleague, friend or partner with you. They can register and pay as a guest, also using the registration button below. Accenture personnel, please use the Discount Code provided to you in the internal communication from I&D.

We'll have a panel and a dialogue, with a moderator, around the questions regarding what do men and women need and expect from each other in moving inclusion forward. An audience Q&A will follow the panel discussion.

As we continue to broaden perspectives, share knowledge and embrace more inclusive mindsets, we encourage both men and women to join us for this evening of engaging discussion, learning and debate.

Let's leave this event with a number of concrete actions, which all of us can take, to ensure we progress on this topic, collaboratively.
