Description

Amanda Zahringer is an Independent Non-Executive Director, Board Chair, strategic advisor and executive mentor, bringing international experience across governance, financial services, fintech and leadership. Her career spans international corporate law, senior executive leadership and board-level responsibility. She began her career as a dual-qualified corporate lawyer working across London, Madrid and Dublin, before progressing into senior executive roles within global financial institutions including Bear Stearns, AIB Merchant Services and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group. This combination of legal, commercial and operational experience gives her a distinctive and highly valued perspective at board level, particularly in complex, regulated and fast-evolving environments. She is known for bringing clarity to complex situations, helping leaders step back from short-term pressure, sharpen judgement and make decisions that are both commercially sound and values-led. Her work consistently focuses on alignment, perspective, commerciality and sustainable impact. Amanda currently serves as Chair of Community Finance Ireland (ROI), Chair of the Supervisory Review Board of the Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland, and Advisory Chair of Headcase Ltd. Through these roles, she supports organisations navigating change, growth and increased scrutiny, bringing calm authority, rigour and long-term thinking to boardroom discussions. Alongside her board portfolio, Amanda is a sought-after keynote speaker and lecturer, delivering sessions on governance, strategy, leadership, prioritisation and risk for professional bodies and organisations in Ireland and internationally. She is a regular lecturer with the Law Society of Ireland and the Irish Management Institute and is widely regarded for her ability to translate complex concepts into practical, grounded insight. Amanda also works selectively as a mentor to senior leaders, supporting them to think more clearly, strengthen judgement and build long-term careers and organisations they are proud of. Her mentoring approach is reflective, empowering and deeply practical, helping individuals navigate transition, complexity and growth with intention and integrity. Across all of her work, Amanda is recognised as a trusted thinking partner who combines strategic depth with humanity, sound judgement and an unwavering focus on long-term value. She is particularly passionate about intentional leadership, authentic connection and the role of professional community in strengthening judgement and enabling individuals and organisations to thrive over time.
